You are a shining star...

..no matter who you are!

What made me choose this song as the opening for my weekly radio show?
Well, for one I love Earth, Wind & Fire.

The song has spoken to my heart for a long time. You see, I didn't believe I was a shining star. But I was holding on to the possibility that I could be a shining star each time I heard the song.

Another great song that I held onto is: You are so beautiful by Joe Cocker. I listened to that song over and over and let the lyrics soak into my soul. If I could believe it, then maybe I could be it (that is another song, isn't it?).

For so long I had what my friend Pam calls "verbal graffiti on the walls of my mind". I didn't think I was a shining star, beautiful or for that matter, lovable.

How is it that we seem to have forgotten that we are radiant? Well, I decided to turn that into a different question: what can we do to recognize our self as radiant again? For that question I have lots of suggestions and ideas!!
